I am working on a huge project. I have had two red bulls in the last 24 hours. And a modest number of coffees and bars of chocolate. Working in Korea is LIFE CONSUMING. I have no time to meet my friends, to buy necessity items I need, sleeping time is cut down (for example, last night, by 100%. The night before was a similar amount.)
And as exciting as it is to be a working professional, its also a little sad. I look at my friends’ Facebook and I see them uploading photos of going to cafes, beaches, parks, drives, etc. And I realize what I miss the most about home is having the luxury of time to be able to do those things. I miss having time.
Its a little sad to see the tired faces of men in their suits and coats, nodding off into their newspapers on the subway.
I glance at them. And think to myself:
‘I do what you do, but in heels’.
